Policy Details

In consultation with our program sites as well as CDC recommendations, AMOpportunities (“AMO”) has put into effect the following policies regarding the COVID-19 pandemic:

  • Certain travelers, such as those who have been in China, Iran, UK, Brazil, India and the EU's "Schengen Area" within 14 days of entry or attempted entry are restricted from entering the United States.

As a result of these U.S. government restrictions and recommendations, we are offering program fee vouchers to visitors with in-person programs who are not able to travel to the U.S. from China, Iran, South Korea, Japan, UK, Brazil, India and EU's "Schengen Area" upon proof of inability to travel. We are also offering vouchers to reserved visitors whose programs or schools have implemented COVID-19 protection procedures that restrict international trainees from attending their in person programs upon proof of restriction. These vouchers can be applied to any future program, and do not expire.

If you are concerned about COVID-19 and your program has not cancelled, or you are unsure about reserving a program at this time, please reach out to your Coach or Advisor to discuss potential options.

If you have not heard from your Coach, and the Program Site is listed as open for a specific month on our site, it is open and accepting applications. Please connect with our team if you have a question about a specific site as there have been some changes to specific programs.

If your rotation has been cancelled by another hospital or organization not affiliated with AMO, please contact advisors@amopportunities.org for a last minute replacement.

If you have not received notice from your AMO Coach that your program has implemented these restrictions, your program is expecting you to attend for your reserved month. Please contact us if you have any concerns - we are in close contact with all program sites to make sure there are sufficient precautions in place to host.

AMO will continue to follow the COVID-19 outbreak and update this policy as circumstances require.
